The Ignition Model Porsche 993 RWB, catalog number IG3873, is a 1:64 scale collectible model reproducing the Porsche 911 993 generation after modification at the RAUH-Welt Begriff studio. It is an item for adult collectors looking for quality in a small scale that is close to 1:18 models — Ignition Model is among the world's leading manufacturers of collectible models and produces them to a completely different standard than typical toy cars.

The bodywork is painted in matte green (Matte Green) — a color that exceptionally highlights the contours of the flares, because the matte finish does not scatter light on the edges. The construction is made of resin, not die-cast zinc, which means that the wheel arch rivets, sharp edges of the flares, front splitter, and thin wing elements are reproduced much more precisely than pressure die-casting technology would allow. The model reproduces the complete RWB build: wide-body riveted wheel arches, lowered suspension, deepened side skirts, and a high-mounted rear wing. The set includes an acrylic display base, an acrylic protective cover, and a gold metal information plate — the whole thing is ready to be placed on a shelf without an additional display case. The edition was created under an official RWB license and in a limited edition.

RAUH-Welt Begriff is a workshop run by Akira Nakai, one of the most recognizable figures in the Porsche world. Nakai primarily modifies air-cooled 911s, and his method is consistently manual: he fits and rivets the flares on site, without ready-made templates, so that no two cars are identical. He gives each completed car an individual name, and it is these specific, named cars that later end up on the model manufacturers' lists.

The original is a Porsche 911 type 993, produced from 1994 to 1998 — the last generation of the 911 with an air-cooled engine. Tony Hatter's body design brought characteristic headlights integrated with the fenders and clearly widened rear wheel arches. At the rear worked a naturally aspirated, six-cylinder boxer with a displacement of 3.6 liters, equipped in later model years with the Varioram system and developing around 285 hp. The 993 was also the first 911 with multi-link rear axle suspension, which significantly improved the car's stability. Today, this generation is considered one of the most desirable among classic Porsches, and the versions modified by RWB achieve prices at auctions that are many times higher than production examples.

For a collector, IG3873 is an item that stands out both for its detail and rarity: resin construction, RWB license, display set, and short production run. Ignition Model does not restock editions once the stock is sold out, and matte versions of the 993 die-cast model disappear from the market exceptionally quickly.

FAQ

Is the model metal?
No — it is made of high-quality resin, which allows for the reproduction of finer details than die-cast zinc.

Does the set include a display case?
Yes. The model is delivered on an acrylic base, under an acrylic protective cover, with a gold metal information plate.

How does this model differ from the IG3872 version?
Body color — IG3873 is made in matte green, while IG3872 is in a light blue-green color. The remaining construction and equipment elements are the same.
